I lived in Phx for 3 1/2 years. Started a swimming pool service and repair business back in 2000... raked in money faster than I could spend it, worked outside year ‘round. Fun job. I’d start at 5:30-6am and be done by 2:30p or do most days, then grab the pre-frozen Camelbak bladder out of the freezer when I got home, change into my mtb gear and go ride at South Mountain Park for an hour and a half to two hours. It’s all about hydration, pre-hydration, and the desire to ride. I still miss South Mtn trails, even after we moved back to Colorado. Great riding there. (Now we live in the Adirondacks of northern NY and I have a trail system on our property, and amazing road riding right from home. I’ve done rides of over 60 miles without having to touch a foot to the ground. No traffic, no lights, no one around...)
