Rail width on a Brooks B-17 saddle

On a 1974 Raleigh Super Course Mark II I’m restoring, I’ve run into a saddle problem. The bike came with a Brooks B-17 Champion Narrow leather saddle with a rail width of 54 mm along the portion of the saddle frame where the bracket that attaches the saddle to the seat post. The saddle leather was shot so I bought a used Brooks B-17 Champion Standard leather saddle on eBay. These rails, much to my surprise, are 50 mm apart, so the bracket doesn’t fit. My choices are ...
1. try to spread the rails of the Standard saddle apart the 4 mm difference and perhaps ruin the saddle.
2. try to find a bracket and seat post that accepts the Standard rails.
