If you ever learn more of his perspective, please keep us posted! My fixed-gear is up to 11831 miles, nearly all of them on two 3/32" cogs and several 1/8" chains. My long-term plan is to replace the chainrings and cogs* with 1/8" parts when they wear out, but that could be another 8-10 years from now!

* I switch gearing between winter (42/18) and the other seasons (45/16).
