The sealant seals the hole. It does not need to be patched.
If you have a large hole, it may be too big for the sealant to work. You may need to patch it, or replace the tire and tube.
If the sealent forms a permanent repair, I see no reason why it shouldn't work. You were right. What brands of Sealentvare you going to try? I'll check out the videos...Thanks,mjac
