Many bicycling shoes sold in bike shops in my area have dual or triple strap closures. They're designed for clipless pedals and thus care needs to be take if using them with toe-straps.

Not to belabor the point or be argumentative, that is not my intention at all. But that is the topic of this man's thread. Using Mountain Bike Cleats and Mountain Bike Clipless Pedals for Urban riding because you can dismount and walk around because the cleat is recessed. These are the ones that hung up on you and will hang up on others. If they don't unclip they are unsafe for Urban Riding. Regular road cleats may not hang up as much, as your experience dictates, but the cleat is exposed and you can not walk around in them in an Urban setting. So they do not apply here. To make toe clips and straps work effortlessly it is best not to use shoes with straps. Then they work every time.

So so you have people on this thread who have spent upwards of $300 on Mountain Bike Clipless Pedals and dedicated Mountain Bike Shoes with the recessed cleat for Urban Riding that is not suited for Urban Riding. That is my point. I apologize...mjac
