Last of the Merciers

Found this lovely M a week or two ago. From the date code on the crank probably an 84 or 85 model - at the tail end of Mercier's storied life. But what model? Who knows? But it is nothing too spectacular, with Columbus Aelle (at least it's not tretubi) and Campy Triomphe group. The 27x1-1/4 Mavic Mod. 3's are drilled for Schrader valves. It rides super! At 22" it's an inch shy of my preferred size. Chrome and paint are pretty nice. Decals are *really* bad. I think I will remove what's left of "Prix de Cannes" from the top tube. Or perhaps remove all. There are replacements available for the down tube decal. Regrettably, the RD cable stop braze on is broken. I think I will just use a band-on stop. Yes, I do plan to fix the brake cable routing. What do you think? Does it deserve a spot next to my Mercier 300?
