From your description I can tell one thing: your drivetrain is making a periodic noise.
Chains are frequently noisy if they're dry. Add your favorite chain lubricant and see how the noise changes.
Try some more troubleshooting to isolate the noise. Putting the bike in a stand and turning the pedals lets you watch the drivetrain closely.
