I bought and installed two of these in my home about 2 years ago. The ports are rated 2A. They are available on eBay from US sellers for as little as a tad under $10 with free shipping. I don't have to waste one of the outlets for a converter. It replaces the standard receptacle with no modifications to the wiring.
