Obviously you love your Mavic wheelset, but have you tried them with a tube?

I’ve never needed to use a tube with my Light Bicycle wheelset, but I used a tube during the initial setup(just to compress the tape). It wasn’t difficult to get it in there like a couple Mavic users have mentioned.

I trust your experience. You aren’t new to cycling. If you couldn’t do it, it’s probably really hard to do.
