Sounds like the Bontrager is a good option too. I'll have to investigate prices/availability/etc.
IMO, if you want to be seen in the daylight, the more power in flashing mode the better.

The focusing of the Garmn is fine. I have used it on my commute in complete dark (through wooded and prairie trails as well as lit streets).

If dusk and daylight to be seen is all you need, then light pattern doesn't matte - just get a cheap high-output cree light with a flashing mode.

Another high quality brand I can recommend is Lezyne.
