For what it's worth -- and this is just further validation for ggg's info --

I just received a response from the nat'l sales mgr for trialtir. He confirmed the lower-end commuter bikes that colnago sells in europe are from the east, however, all CF frames are from italy. In the long run, the only certainty is death, of course, but there does not appear to be any fear (if you have that, personally!) of a high-end nag made anywhere but by Ernesto's legions.

(He also said that he personally knows Mr. Colnago, and that it would never happen, but that's a bit too subjective for me to bank on. Just provides some addt'l short-term confirmation.)

Anyway, now back to you for the free-market, cost-benefit analysis...
