The limits/capacity I found were:

1056-SS (short cage) max 28t capacity 28
1056-GS (med cage) max 26t (seems odd) capacity 35

You’re capacity is 31 (28-11) + (53-39)

If the medium cage max is really only 26 it will still probably work with a 28t. I probably wouldn’t use a 1056 short cage. But based on recent events, it’s your call.
