10mi of hard riding on zwift is equal to 20mi of hard riding outside, at least it is for me. The inability to coast in zwift makes for a lot different riding experience. 30min/10mi sessions are great because I can do 15min of other exercise, 30min of zwift, and in less than an hour I have a full workout. I end up doing a lot of crit races since they are 9-12mi.
And when I dont do those, then my regular zwift rides end up being a bit ponder, bit a bit less intense.
Check your trainer to make sure its compatible with zwift. Not all are. Zwift has basically taken a dozen or so dumb trainers and figured out how much power is being generated when the tire is properly inflated and the proper resistance is applied to the wheel.
There are half a dozen ways to cheat the game, but if you don't take it too seriously and you can laugh at people who need to cheat in an exercise video game, zwift is great.
Unfortunately my trainer isn't compatible. Would that make Zwift a no-go?
