Speaking of SS/FG in literature, Curious George Rides A Bike was my favorite book when I was little.

He not only rode a single speed (no front brake, probably coaster rear), but had a messenger bag and mad trick skills. Plus there were instructions for how to make an origami boat out of a sheet of newspaper. If only all books were that good.

I cringe thinking of how freaking terrible the Curious George movie is going to be when it comes out later this month.

Dig the radial laced 15 spoke front wheel. No wonder it taco'd when he hit a rock and he had to ride a wheelie all the way home.
