I've been cycling regularly (commuting to and from work, along with "fun" rides on days off) for the last 5 months and have dropped 30 lbs in the process. I didn't have any problem with my bike (a 20+ year old Schwinn) holding me. I was inspired, however, by an article/section of the Sept. 2005 issue of "Bicycling" that featured (in their words) "Big Fellas". It had all kinds of info about this subject, including many equipment recommendations. For me, busting the myth that a cyclist has to be 6'2" and 140lbs to be considered a cyclist was the best part.
