I don't care about leaderboards and segments but when I'm out on longer rides my wife likes that I use the "Beacon" feature to see where I'm at. So I will continue to pay for that.
If Beacon is the only premium feature you use, it may be worth using other free solutions that do the same thing, like Whatsapp, which allows live location sharing for preset amounts of time.
