Help converting hybrid bike from straight to drop bar
So here's the story. I bought a hybrid bike off of a guy cheap ($75) because he bought direct from Nashbar, didn't set it up right and put the chain into the spokes bending the RD and the derailleur hanger. And I guess he just didn't want to deal with getting it fixed??? I had a spare Deore RD sitting around, so I ordered the hanger, and put the new RD on and the bike rides good.
Here are the components currently on the bike:
FD - Shimano Tourney FD-TY710 (Triple)
RD - Shimano Deore RD-M591 (Running as 8 spd)
Crank - Suntour SR Triple
Brake levers/Shifters - Shimano, ST-EF500
Brakes - Tektro mechanical disc M280
Now... the only thing, is I cannot stand the straight bars. It's killing my hands. I'm so used to riding drop bars, it just is way more comfortable for me, so I would like to make the change. I have a spare drop bar sitting around (Bontrager IsoZone OS VR-CF 440mm). So I'm good on that. However, since the FD and RD are both MTB parts, I'm not sure how to go about switching to drop bars, as all of the Brake levers and Shifters I've seen for drops are Road parts, and I've been told the cable pulls are different.
Anyone have any suggestions as to what I should be looking for to make this work?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
