Ridley Oval forks

I've purchased a rather nice unridden (essentially NOS) Ridley Oval.
Not much info online regarding this bike. But most agree the forks are carbon/alloy 4ZA Ellyps with a 33mm rake.
I didn't want to drill the carbon forks, so I took the bike apart to measure up for a pre-drilled replacement fork.

SURPRISE - The forks are fully aluminium. They are marked Aprebic with a Ridley "Made in Belgium" sticker.
I measured up and they do have the 33mm rake as expected.

Does anyone know if this bike was ever available with this type of aluminium fork?

Thanks

Barry
