The CAAD is a much more intense, stiff, fast bike. I had a CAAD 7 R2000 I am guessing it was 15 years ago. It was a fast and responsive bike but punishing. I kept it for two years then bought a steel/carbon Serotta, which I happily ride today.
Aluminum bikes are light but they are all stiff in all the wrong ways.
If you are buying a used bike, keep an open mind for a steel bike.
