Skiddz - thanks a lot. I've not been able to find an answer myself. My LBS told me the phone mount wouldn't fit but they didn't share any details on how to remove the top cap, so I very much appreciate that you posted back here once you found the answer. Did you you try mounting a phone mount after you removed the top cap? I'll PM you for pictures.

Edit: I tried PM'ing you but it appears that's for users with at least 10 posts only. There was also an option to send an email so I did that.
