I'm not hating because Puma is Big Biz. I'm hating cuz they're half-assed. If puma really gave a rats ass about fixed gear/track riding, they'd sell a real bike, not some slingshot/brompton/integrated cablelock ripoff POS. A super-ltd edition lugged frame with sick paint. Give that thing away as an alleycat prize, proceeds from the race going to the emergency messenger fund.

If they were the least bit serious, they'd come out with a decently stiff pair of shoes and a rain jacket. But no. Sweatshopped leisurewear as far as the eye can see.

Cultural poaching will always be part of the corporate toolkit. Puma just sucks at it.
Puma=SHOES AND SPORTSWEAR, why the hell would they make a super limited edition track frame? It's a german company first of all, and super limited edition italian track bikes are allready limited enough. Let the sportswear makers make apparel, and the framebuilders can make bikes. And FYI, Puma does make a decent rain jacket, just go into a proper running store, and they did used to make decent bike shoes, I think I can recall a certain Greg Lemond wearing them. They were just pushed out by more popular brands. Are they half-assed now that you know that? Rant on Puma if you want, but I see no problem with a company that wants to contribute to a scene that not only could use the support, but appreciates it. If you want to see Puma implement the ideas that you came up with, then write them. How do you think these things come to fruition?
