The Core stuff isn't that expensive and it's good. I really like the latest Core jersey - a little more flexible/stretchy than the previous (which was still pretty good). If the cut suits your body type, I think they're a great deal at $80. The Core bibs are also good and not terribly expensive (the Core Cargo do up the price a bit vs the standard Core). They're a bit wedgie off the bike (speaking only for myself), but they're nice in the saddle - I've only had them since spring, but I've done an 80+ and 100+ mile rides in 'em with no complaints.

Also, check the Archive Sale section - there's often good stuff discounted there.
