I can speak on this. I love them. They are *roughly* upper L-spine region. Depending on your flexibility they are pretty easy to get stuff out of and I would say I have average flexibility. I usually use them for things I wont need to remove often though. So, slim wallet/cards/$, keys, phone. Not too difficult to reach on the bike and off it is obviously easier. With a Rapha Pro Fit Jersey I can reach in them without difficulty despite having a rain cape and various bits in the jersey itself. Good sized pockets too.
