I have really high doubts a local bike shop is going to go to the trouble to get counterfiet KMC Missing Links. That just sounds fishy. I can see there being an issue with a product but usually that is covered under warranty. I have had enough products that missed QC before they want out and needed replacement but were legitimate products. I have also seen plenty of manufacturers change packaging and plenty of vendors with older packaging.
