The co-ops seem to be closed around here, has me wondering how to get hold of them to discuss buying from their accumulating inventory. Probably like a gold mine about now.

The claw mount can be used with quick-release axles, but the axle should ideally extend 4mm further past the locknut on the drive side (so that the springs can center the QR ends over the contact faces as intended).

The 5mm retaining bolt/nut is inevitably made of high-grade steel, so should be tightened heavily once the top edges of the dropout and hanger slots are even with one another.

And speaking of dropout hangers, I recently discovered that even fully removing the B screw from a Suntour Cyclone rear derailer didn't quite optimize the chain gap between the guide pulley and a 13-28t cassette. So (using a Dremel round carbide bit) I removed some metal from the lug on the derailer top knuckle, letting the derailer swing further forward.
The shifting is vastly improved by the (perhaps 30%) reduction of the chain gap.
I've also noticed that most of the ~1972-1984 Suntour derailers (other than "ss" racing short-cage models) similarly impose very large chain gaps seemingly intended to handle large cassettes around 30-34t at minimum. So this just means that many of them can be improved with a bit of fiddling or filing.
