The bike is 9 speed Campy Mirage throughout, but I don't know about the hub (or freehub) itself. Is this likely to be genuine Campy aswell? (bike is a Decathlon, 7.4?, either 2004 or 05, not sure).

So wondering about how to deal with it. Is the freehub serviceable? or at least removable and then cleanable? Just about to order the lockring tool, do I need anything else?

Thanks for nay help

The rear axle likely has cartridge bearings. Aside from the rear lockring splined plug to remove the cassette, you are well advised to purchase an inexpensive pawl retainer for reinstalling the pawls and springs once you disassemble and clean the internal ratchet, pawls and springs. Brandford is a great site for Campy parts...they sell the inexpensive pawl retainer...a simple pre-formed wire hoop to keep the pawls in a retracted state to reinstall the freehub onto the hub.

P.S. I would never take a hose near any bicycle hub as water can easily wick hub bearing seals.
