Bikes: Several, mostly not name brands.

Is the ring secured to the crank, i.e. it doesn't rattle or otherwise show indications of being loose?

If so, no worries. Pedaling forces are borne by the chainring bolts securing the ring to the spider, not the ring's contact with the plateau on the spider.
