My take on MUP’s is that they are for everything but bikes! I gave up on them a while ago. It looks like where you are they are great, but here in Southern California it is for moms with strollers walking three abreast talking and ignoring anyone else that wants to pass or dog walkers with retractable leashes and dogs that are on the opposite side of the path. It can be a wonderful place to hold a neighborhood meeting , right in the middle of the path. I am not out on my ride to get frustrated by these every day occurrences. I stick to the road.
