Man, I've been thinking of tubulars for a while now. My first real road bike had tubulars and I loved them (well, except when I had a flat...that was a PITA).

To answer your question, I have called in sick but it was years ago and it was to go surfing. I've taken a day off recently to get in a good ride though. Haven't done the miles you have yet though. Not in one day anyway (over 2 days I've gotten close). I just ride in to work a couple times a week now.

It's going to be 80 here tomorrow and windy!!! 15-25mph winds and worse in the canyons. Should make for some interesting rides.
