I use 1” wide stainless steel flat stock in 0.012” or .3mm thickness. It works quite well. I score with a box cutter and break it at the right length.
In this case, I think he has the opposite situation, so he needs the 25.4 bars. I use a 26.0 Technomic shimmed with 25.4 bars.
