angle-parking is a nice compromise ... like perpendicular parking, more cars fit in & the merchants (and city, if they're metered spots) like that. Unlike perpendicular, there is a bit of angular offset between the tailgates/rear bumpers of each of the vehicles, so as a cyclist (or driver, for that matter) headed down the road it becomes more likely you'll notice a vehicle starting to move out. it also give the drivers of the parked car a better view when (if!) they check to see if they have an All Clear.
