The CPSC guidance is rooted in the fear of pitch-over. Putting the front brake on the least dominant hand is supposed to prevent this. It’s silly but that’s the way most bike are put together.
As usual for government agencies, the CPSC ignores us left-handed riders and doesn't seem to care for our safety.
