Got me to thinking if there was any area around here that is 20+ miles; flat-ish; no lights and low wind?
  • Canada and 92 to Canada and 84 - ~ 7.3 miles with 3 stop signs.
  • Turn left on 84, right on Whiskey Hill, merge right onto Sand Hill which becomes Portola. Portola to Alpine. Stop sign at 13 miles total.
  • Turn around, take the left where Portola splits from Sand Hill (carefully!), follow Portola to 84, 84 to Woodside. Stop sign at 19.6 miles total.
  • Turn left at Canada, 2 stop signs, return to start. Just about 27 miles.
That's got 1000 feet of elevation gain spread over 27 miles. Hardest bit is from Whiskey Hill to the top of Sand Hill, but that's just a couple minutes of climbing.
