Bikes: Allez Elite Sport

Hello from Cumbria

Hi there,

I'm a 48 year old bloke who wishes he was 20 years younger... or at least felt 20 years younger!

I've ridden mainly mountain bikes for many years, mostly dedicated single track, but sometimes a bit of cross country when the opportunity presented itself.

Got married, bought a house, had two kids, (now 6 and 8) - they are amazing, but my God! how they slow you down. Not helped by the fact that I was working in retail up to 3 years ago, so fairly active, but have retrained as an IT technician, so now almost completely sedentary.

15 years ago I weighed 80kg, I now weigh an awful lot more than that, so 6 months ago I got myself a shiny new Allez Elite and started slow. Have worked up to doing 20-30 miles three times a week or so (with an occasional 45 miler thrown in when I can get the time), and looking to try to increase that as much as possible, and I am starting to see results. The weight is (slowly) coming off and I can feel my fitness gradually returning. Don't think I'll ever feel like a 28 year old again, but we can give it a try!
