After spending six hours fiddling with the removal, rebuilding, and reinstallation of the power steering pump from my Chevy Suburban, I finally realized that I can look at this adventure in two ways.
1. I could be extremely ticked off, because I could have spent those 6 hours cycling in this beautiful sunny weather we're having. Instead, I spent it busting my knuckles bloody, wrenching my back, and just plain not really enjoying myself. Even though I like turning wrenches on ocassion. Or...
2. However, I also look at it like this. I replaced my power steering pump for about $70. If I had taken it to the auto mechanic, who incedently is a really nice guy, it would have cost me almost $500 for a brand new pump with labor and warranty after taxes.
I figure, I now have $430 extra to spend on cycling gear.
