The V-brakes are probably a replacement, as they wouldn't have shown up until mid '90s at least.

Not sure what the situation is over there, but here in the US, the pandemic has made bicycles, esp. ready to ride, the "new toilet paper". High demand, reduced supply of new bikes from China, more owners wanting their bikes fixed creating LONG backlogs for repairs; as a result, prices have gone way up. It's often called the "COVID tax". Over here, EU50, which would be, what, $60-ish, would be an absolute steal for that bike.
