Matching components...

Hello all,

After reading the tread about what do you represent with your bike I got thinking about the whole "matching component" thing, after realizing, that short of the small stuff my entire road bike is basically two manufactures, shimano and trek/bontrager

i.e. trek 2100, dura ace 10, bontrager fork, stem, bars, post, wheels (hubs/rims), tape, cages, bottles, fightdeck, etc. - that means 90% or more of my bike is those companies. Now is this a typical or atypical thing in the bike world or does it only really happen when you buy a mass marketed bike?

Interesting...
