This weekend I put a pair of MKS Sylvan pedals with red toe straps and silver toe clips on the Mercian. They look a LOT better than the black plastic toe clips and black semi-mountain pedals, and they function better, too.

I am thinking about those suggestions to put a honey color Brooks B17 on her - but I worry about comfort. Are theose Brooks really that comfortable? How bad is the comfort during the break-in? I have a source for one new for $50 but I hesitate because I have built the Mercian for comfort for long day rides and I don't want to waste my $50 if my rear and crotch are gonna be less comfy than my current saddle.

BTW never could get Thomson to work, so I'm using the Ritchey seatpost. I guess I'll be selling the Thomson.
