Have had three sets of Shimano SPD-L pedals on my Emonda in this order. RS***, 6800 & 8000.
For me the RS*** had perceptible flex, nothing objectionable though. The 8000 is a tiny bit thinner than the 6800, enough my knees asked to lower the saddle a touch, but otherwise the same.
