I debated going via French Creek to avoid Elverson, but I looked at recent Street View. The state has made improvements to the shoulderless section of 23. Not only is there a sidewalk for much of the way, bikes can take the entire lane. It will also be early Sunday morning. I’ve done that stretch before. Not my favorite, but going through French Creek and St. Peter’s adds 4.1 miles and nearly 900’ of climbing.
