Normally I avoid riding in rainy weather, because it is unpleasant, and my bike requires a heavy cleaning afterwards. When I do ride, I tend to ride hard enough to sweat a lot, and while riding in the rain will make me significantly more wet, it will less unpleasant than being trapped under a rain coat. If I am on a long tour where rain always seems to make an appearance, I will bring a goretex rain jacket. But on long tours I ride an easy or moderate pace, and do not sweat so much, if at all.
