Unless it is damaged at the casing and starts to bulge it isn't a functional concern, but it's ugly. It would likely not be noticeable after it's mounted.
I'm kind of going back and forth between these two POV's. One problem is I ordered the tire internationally, so returning may be a pain, if possible at all. Company hasn't wrote me back yet. Ironically, I wasn't even looking for a red tire, but it was all I could find in this particular brand/model. Everyone is out of stock of the black ones.
