I have noticed that "shiftless urban guys" ALWAYS come closer to look at my Cannondale than come to look at my Trek road bike. Why? It's the big white letters! To them, Cannondale means "dope for a week". The Trek is a nicer bike in ALL respects (has campy record and DuraAce components), but no stickers, hence, no interest.
I read a posting once from a guy who had put Huffy stickers on the downtube of his ride. Might work? Maybe if I wrap the tubes with friction tape......
