What the heck is “direct mount” if not referring to posts brazed/welded on for canti/v brakes or u/centerpull brakes? Kinda seems like the poll is “do you want a Rivendell, a rivEndell, or a rivendEll?” I like Rivendells, and will buy one when my bank account can handle it.

I voted for direct mount because I’m pretty sure that it refers to canti/v/u/centerpull brakes and my favorite frameset was a canti-equipped tourer designed for 27” rims but *just* worked with 700c rims, and really were the best brakes I’ve ever used. I kinda wish I voted for the 35mm tires though, only because my favorite geo is on a shimmy-prone 80s Trek 770.
