I grew up in South Pasadena during Van Halen's heyday. Many friends were fans and a couple were groupies- one told a story about scoring backstage passes for VH and getting propositioned by Diamond Dave. (She turned him down.)
Other friends recall seeing them at the local McDonalds before they hit it big. Fun times.
