Even though my current shimano 7400 group set works just fine, I would like to upgrade the rear derailleur to the 9 speed Dura Ace 7700(I know that this will require spreading out the frame which I have done on other bikes and I'm planning on getting the Dura Ace 9 speed downtube shifters as well). Therefore, is it possible to keep the 7400 crankset, front derailleur and left downtube shifter and only have to change the right downtube shifter along with rear derailleur and chain?
