I've had at least two sets of GS shifters, and they performed just like Record shifters. They're very easy to tighten while riding if need be.

I recently read a tip here on Bikeforums to use a sheet of paper on the down tube when mounting or removing these clamps to protect the paint. And you needn't spread the clamp as much. I did it recently just using a paper towel, and it worked great.

Edit: velobase says they're Valentino Extra.
Yup! Just found them as well. I guess one of the easiest way to differenciate them is to look a the friction screws. These are quite cool actually, very easy to adjust.
