I was never a fan of dark roast, simply because every dark roast I had reminded me of burnt Starbucks, only stronger. The Monks straightened me out on that deal.
Now see, the reason I like Starbucks when traveling is it's the only widely-available stuff that tastes anywhere near strong enough, but I also like roasts as dark as Satan's soul. A lot of roasters' darkest isn't dark enough for my taste.
