These rides are becoming some of my favorites. Usually we do them during the week. 40-60 miles with a break for breakfast. They're faster than I am but they're happy to go a pace that I (or others who join) can handle.
It's funny, when I go with club
#2 it's usually similar miles and hills but they never stop for food, rarely ever stop for bathroom breaks or water. Their pace is moderate and they always look out for stragglers, though.
Club
#1 , which I have been with for 31 years, is a different story. The last couple years have been tough for me with the fast guys trying to drop everyone they can. I have only been with them a couple times this year and I miss some of the people but I don't miss redlining for the whole ride while bleeding out of my eyes trying to hang on. Maybe I've aged out.
