If the frames are built with Carbolite 103 tubing, they're lower-end bikes. Peugeot's mid-to-upper tier bikes were built with Reynolds and Vitus tubing for the most part.
"Record du Monde" is not a model, it's a slogan ("World Record"0. If you want the model number, first check for a white sticker on the chainstay. If these are truly 1980s bikes, you can probably post the stamped letters/numbers on the bottom bracket shell under the crank, we can decode for you. Knowing what stickers are on the bike and how they're equipped may help. You can also find date codes in various places on bike components - the back of the caliper arms, hubs, seat post and stem, etc.
Anyway, even the lower-end 103 frames are solid offerings, so I don't want it to sound like I'm bagging them. You won't find anything in the "racer" category with that specific tubing necessarily. But needless to say, 103 tubing in my opinion stomps a lot of what else was available on the market at the same time.
